After growing a strong dislike for Olympus, Demeter decided to raise her only daughter with the flower nymphs on Earth. Kore was never far from her mother’s side and learned how to tend the land and worked the growing season and harvest with her mother.However, after years of doing the same exact thing with the same exact people Kore started to get bored. She found herself far less interested in her duties and far more interested in exploring her ancestral home: Olympus. Even though she had no knowledge of the land, she dreamed of something new, anything new. But Demeter was unrelenting, insisting Kore was too immature or too young to go.As anger and resentment started to build in the young goddess her patience began to thin. She was uncharacteristically blunt and short with the nymphs and even her own mother. One morning when Kore was out with some of the nymphs, her friends began to wither and die. Her anger reached a boiling point as she stormed to the sacred field where her flowers had been planted. Those flowers were the essence of the nymphs - the only friends she’d ever known. Kore started to scream at the villagers stealing the flowers, their apologies falling on deaf ears. In a fit of rage the goddess killed the men that had stolen the flowers, not realizing what she’d done until Demeter arrived to stop her.The murders of the five men were quickly covered up by Demeter and the rest of the nymphs. Kore became a hollow shell of herself. The harvest came and she could hardly get herself out of bed, much less help. Eventually it all became too much for Demeter and she knew something had to change. After contacting her friends in Olympus, Kore was sent to live with Artemis.Once she arrived, she knew she needed a change. That change started with her name, and Kore became Persephone. She felt like a new woman now that she was in Olympus, and she found herself absolutely fascinated by the area. Having little to no interaction with men on Earth, Persephone gravitated toward the goddesses and other female figures in Olympus.Unfortunately, many gods were absolutely fascinated with her beauty.As Persephone started to explore more, she was consistently accosted by gods wanting to be with her. It was something she’d never experienced on Earth, and romance was never something that was even discussed with her mother. Even then Persephone knew their attentions were unwelcome and and they made her uncomfortable.Things came to a head the day Zeus set his sights on Persephone after tiring of his latest mistress. She’d been simply writing in her journal when the man came up behind her. After some back-and-forth, Zeus started to anger over her refusal to even entertain his advances. The man grabbed her and, on instinct, Persephone hit him to get him off. He released her arm, but the clouds above them darkened as his rage built.And Persephone? She ran.The goddess practically flew down the hill with no knowledge of where she was going. All she knew was that she needed to leave the area before Zeus killed her. She found herself at the mouth of a cave and hid in the shadows. As Zeus neared, she sunk back farther into the cave to hide from the man. She didn’t stop moving until she bumped into something solid - something solid that growled.Zeus heard the scream and knew exactly what he was going to do. As Persephone came into view Zeus used his powers to seal off the entrance to the Underworld, trapping her there was a punishment for rejecting his advances.Hearing her cries and pleas for help, Hades found the goddess of Spring curled up on the ground in tears with Cerberus watching from the distance after he’d scared the poor girl so bad. Once she’d calmed down, Persephone was able to explain to Hades what had happened. He felt for the girl and soon brought her to his home.Despite his scary reputation, Hades became the first man to show her genuine kindness without the expectation of some sort of favor in return. The two became friends in a matter of days and Persephone started to get comfortable in the Underworld with him and the other beings. In her boredom Persephone found plants that could grow in the harsh conditions and introduced pomegranates to the area.Even under the conditions she was sent there in, Persephone seemed to be thriving in the Underworld. She became good friends with Hecate and others who often came to and from Olympus. Even though she was very jealous of their freedoms Persephone had started to feel right at home. But the biggest strides she made was with Hades. The man she once feared was now her best friend. He was her favorite person on that plane or any other. What she didn’t recognize in that moment? Those feelings for him were love.As the winter passed her absence was far more noticeable. Spring struggled to come and a famine spread over the land. Demeter had been begging and threatening Zeus to let her daughter leave and he could no longer deny her as humans began to die at a rapid pace. Demeter stormed into the Underworld to “save” her daughter. Even though it was a happy reunion, it was a tearful goodbye for Persephone as she had to leave the man she was so fond of.Earth returned back to normal, but the sadness she felt only grew the longer she was away from Hades. Demeter consulted with other goddesses to try to figure out what was wrong with her daughter until Aphrodite finally talked some sense into her: Persephone was in love with Hades. For weeks Demeter denied it, but when he made a surprise visit to Earth just to see her the attraction could no longer be denied.So, after some discussions, the gods struck an agreement. During the spring and through the harvest Persephone would live with her mother and the flower nymphs on Earth. Once the harvest was finished she would return to the Underworld to be with her beloved. It was by no means perfect, but Persephone thought it was as close as they could get.Persephone and Hades were declared husband and wife during her first full winter there and their love has only grown stronger since. She continues to split her duties between the Earth and the Underworld which allowed her to watch technology grow. Persephone brought that technology to Olympus and the Underworld, even figuring out a way to get a phone connection between the planes once those came about.Now that Persephone has more freedom she’s happier than ever. She tries to spread joy when she can, but she can still struggle with her emotions at times. The goddess is still very much dependent on other people, but also simply thrives in the company of others.

HOW THE KINGDOM LIGHTS SHINED ...

III CANON. Bridget has just been named Crown Princess of Eldorra. She's moved back to her home country but continued to travel around the world, especially to the United States, in a diplomatic role while her grandfather is still in charge. Even though she's under pressure from her country's parliament to find a husband before she's crowned, Bridget continues to try to live the most normal life she can before it's all taken away. All starters and memes will be made in this verse unless otherwise specified. III COLLEGE. Attending the prestigious Thayer University near Washington, DC, Bridget is away from home for the first time in her life. She'd got a great group of friends, routinely volunteers at the local animal shelter, and has a bodyguard following her at all times. Even with Booth acting like a shadow, Bridget is having the best college experience she can. III QUEEN. Bridget successfully lobbied the Eldorran parliament to allow her to rule without getting married first. She was crowned Queen of Eldorra almost two years ago and had been seeing sky-high approval ratings. Of course, not everything can always be blue skies and sunshine, can it? III MAFIA. Born into a wealthy mafia family, Bridget was raised to be arm candy and nothing more. Her brother was groomed from a young age to take over the family business while Bridget was taught the art of being a wife. She hated it.
